November 2024 Newsletter
Hello Friends!
What’s New on the Farm!
East Tennessee is always beautiful this time of year, and we’re enjoying the magnificence of God’s Creation as the leaves show their true colors! Our Rhode Island Red hens have officially started laying eggs, providing us with many more delicious and nutritious farm-fresh, beautiful brown eggs! We’ve combined the Redheads with their neighboring Barred Rocks, and after a moment or two of getting acquainted, they’re getting along like one big happy family! The emphasis is on “big” here, because there are roughly 100 of them running around, enjoying all that nature has to offer them! Combining the geese was a little more challenging, since they are territorial by nature, but Waylon and Willie have warmed up to the Louisiana woman and Mississippi man (a.k.a. Loretta and Conway) after an initial skirmish!
Bacon Coming Soon!!!
We have a fresh supply of pasture-raised pork, including our very popular pork chops, breakfast sausage, and chorizo!! And our delicious bacon is being smoked and cured as I write this newsletter!! Our bacon is a best seller at the Farmers Market, so check our website or call us to keep updated on when it arrives, because it won’t last long!! We’re so excited about being able to offer such quality products due to the farming practices we’ve implemented and God’s blessings on our efforts!
Thanksgiving!
And speaking of blessings, as Thanksgiving draws near, it would be remiss of us not to give thanks to God for all the blessings He has given us this year! The earth is His and the fullness thereof, and we are grateful that He has provided us with a beautiful place to raise our animals on pasture! We also owe a huge amount of gratitude to our wonderful customers who have purchased from us this year. We couldn’t continue doing what we love without your support! From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you and wish you a blessed Thanksgiving!
Farmers Market Changes!
As winter approaches, there will be some changes to the Market Square Farmers Market soon! For the next few weeks, we will be in a new location, on the corner of Union Street and Market Street. We’ll be looking for you there this coming Saturday! Also, beginning December 7, the Farmers Market hours will change to 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Don’t forget to pick up a dozen of our delicious pastured eggs at the farmers market!
