Hello Friends!

What’s New on the Farm!

“The day the Lord created hope was probably the same day He created Spring.” Bernard Williams

Spring has finally sprung, and it’s definitely put a “spring” in our step, as we’ve been busy preparing for all the new additions coming to the farm this year and for the summer farmers’ markets!   As the farm wakes up after a long, winter’s nap, we’re happy to hear the birds singing and see the flowers blooming, reminding us that Spring is a time of hope and new life.

And speaking of new life, we just finished building our new egg wagon to accommodate the “spring chickens” we’re adding to our flock in May!  Like the name suggests, the chickens can lay their eggs in their choice of one of the 40 nice, cozy nesting boxes in the egg wagon!  ‘Cause hey, we know chicks like to have options!    And just like our smaller egg mobiles, we’ll use the new, larger egg wagon to continue moving the chickens around the farm, giving them plenty new vegetation to munch on, allowing the pasture where they were before to rejuvenate, all while they fertilize the soil as they go!  This is all a part of regenerative farming, and this is definitely how our egg wagon rolls!

Farmers’ Markets

Farmers’ Markets are another exciting aspect of Spring, and we are especially excited this year as we expand to 3 markets!  Be sure to come see us on opening day at the Market Square Farmers’ Market in downtown Knoxville, beginning on Saturday, May 3 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Also, we are thrilled to be at the Oak Ridge Farmers Market in Jackson Square on Saturdays from 8 a.m. – 12 noon already!!  So, come by and see us in Oak Ridge on Saturdays!!  AND, we will be at the Ebenezer Road Farmers’ Market in Knoxville on Tuesdays from 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. most weeks!  So, if you live nearby, come check out the Ebenezer Road Market and be sure to look for us while you’re there!   April 5th & April 8th were the debuts of the Oak Ridge and Ebenezer markets, and it was great to see some familiar faces and a lot of new faces!  Hope to see you at one of the markets soon!  We have all our popular, pasture-raised pork cuts in stock except our delicious maple-cured bacon and jowl, but we’ll have more of our addictive bacon and jowl available in May, just in time for the downtown market in Knoxville!!  And don’t forget the pasture-raised eggs!!  But come early…they sell quickly!

Home is where our hearts are!

We are so happy and blessed to be able to offer our community pasture-raised products, providing a local and much healthier option for you and your family!! Our priorities are healthy soil, healthy animals, and healthy food, because we are stewards of the land, the animals, and our bodies!  These are resources that God gave us, and may we always care for them wisely!

WE APPRECIATE YOU!!

Thanks again for supporting local! We love getting your calls and emails, so keep ‘em coming! Hope to see you soon at the Market Square Farmers Market in downtown Knoxville and/or at the Oak Ridge Farmers Market in March!
